JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dynamic, organized Program Assistant with experience providing a high level of professional support and a proven ability to engage clients. This position assists with administrative needs in the Safe House (a 12-bed congregate living shelter for survivors and their families) as well as supporting accounting and development tasks. The Program Assistant will complete administrative tasks including but not limited to answering agency phone, picking up and distributing agency mail, completing daily receipts, submitting monthly billing and invoices, participating in special events, supporting administrative and direct service staff with clerical tasks, and addressing facilities-related needs. Additionally, this position provides support to callers on the 24-hour helpline during shift and assistance to Safe House residents.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree or related education/experience.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking, required.
  • Strong documentation and interpersonal skills, required.
  • Ability to effectively and independently make decisions based on sound judgment.
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s license.
  • Candidates with 40-hour domestic violence training preferred. However, candidates without training must complete 40-hours of domestic violence training upon hire.
