JBWS cannot fulfill its mission alone. A community-wide response is required to prevent domestic and dating abuse. JBWS maintains the following partnerships.
Battered Women's Legal Advocacy Project
- Referrals to pro bono attorneys for help with restraining orders
Brushfire
- Pro bono advertising and marketing services to increase access to JBWS
Crisis Response Teams
- Immediate crisis intervention by volunteers at local police departments
Division of Youth And Family Services (DYFS)
- DYFS-based domestic liaison
Domestic Violence Working Group
- The court, Prosecutor's Office, police and social service representatives monitor the implementation of the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act
Girl Scouts of Northern NJ
- Education for troops and troop leaders
- Gold, Silver and Bronze Award sponsors
Area Hospitals
- Increased training for medical professionals
- Improved access to domestic violence victim services
Libre
- Provision of legal assistance with restraining orders, child custody, child support and matrimonial concerns
Mental Health Services Project
- Referral network for low-cost, long-term therapy
- Professional training on domestic violence seen in private practice
Morris County Department of
Human Services
- Cross-training among service providers
- Coordinator of services to persons with concerns related to mental health, substance abuse and/or domestic violence
Morris County Prosecutor's Office
- Collaboration on outreach campaigns to encourage victims to seek help
- Collaboration on professional education for police officers
Morris County Sexual Assault Center and the Mental Health Association of Morris County
- This No Wrong Door partnership is working to create safe, accessible and welcoming service environments to survivors of sexual and domestic abuse with mental health diagnoses
Planned Parenthood
- Access to reproductive health services for victims of domestic violnece and JBWS services for patients of Planned Parenthood
Women's Resource Center
- On-site computer literacy classes taught by instructors from the Women's Center of County College of Morris
